My experience at the National Assembly of Pakistan
It was by all means an underwhelming experience. I couldn’t really see the kind of ‘leaders’ that I was expecting after watching our bunch of legislators on the tv – in neither personality, nor attire, nor working, nor behavior. Hmm, a little disappointed, yes. But keeping my hopes up for the future lot. That is if these folks do not derail the entire process in the country.
What I’m sharing here is a small tit for tat talk that took place between treasury and opposition benches. Chaudhary Nisar Ali of PML(N) was laughed at by the treasury bench for taking a lot of time, and still suggesting that he doesn’t want to take the N.A.’s time. This prompted quips from opposition benches. The surprise in the clip, is someone (i do not know, or which party did he belong to) calling out Rehman Malik as Rehman Dakait – twice – in the national assembly. Whatever we think or write about him, don’t think N.A. is a place for such remarks.
